Garlits is coming! Garlits is coming! The contract is signed, the deal is done. Big Daddy will be here for 2 days for our anniversary race, along with one of the vintage 'Swamp Rat' diggers. He'll be signing autographs and firing up the vintage dragster! Stay tuned for more info as the year progresses.
The NJSP racing control unit has informed track operators at a recent meeting that the racetrack license holder is ultimately responsible for making sure all rules and regulations are followed. Failure in doing so can lead the license holder to being charged with a disorderly person offense by the NJSP. This carries a fine of $200-$1000 and up to 1 year in jail. PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO BEND THE RULES.
Super Pro will NOT run with 'blue light' activated. In other words, a driver will be able to put out the pre-stage light and not be automatically disqualified. All compulink parameters will remain the same in the class. "Deep" will not be allowed to be written on the vehicle.
Friday night Street nighters take note of the rule change for 2010...Convertibles running quicker than 13.50 MUST conform to the NHRA rulebook (ie rollbar).
It's not going to rain on Wed, Fri, Sat. or Sunday from March thru Novermber!!!
Our Bracket Final program will continue as it did last year, with the hospitality tent. This year, though, I don't believe we will be able to give away the free entries for 2011 as we did in the past for the top 3.
We will not be running a Junior Dragster eliminator program in 2010. Junior dragsters will NOT be run on e.t. race days (including test/tune juniors).
Junior Dragsters will only be run on Sunday test/tune days. They will not be able to run on Friday or Wed. nights.
Wednesdays will continue this year, but I think we'll keep it simple....hamburgers and dogs.
Please check out rules section of our site. Some new requirements for 2010. Specifically, and most notably is that we no longer can allow pure stock convertibles to run quicker than 13.50 without a roll bar. T-top type cars will need a bar at 11.49. There will be no leeway, unfortunately.
New payouts are now online for Super and Pro. All other classes remain unchanged.
We urge anyone who plans on running regularly to make arraingments and get an extended tech inspection (ETI) done on your vehicle.
